Topic abstract for “Why you did not get that promotion” 

Often, executives in organizations are frustrated when their efforts are not rewarded as per their expectations. With limited budgets and career paths available in modern organizations, this challenge has become more acute.

In Speaker’s experience working with thousands of mid-level executives across dozens of organizations, he came across some interesting patterns on how they feel about missing such growth opportunities and how they cope with these ‘losses’.

In this seminar, he hope to present some of his observations and learnings. He will also share some research based insights on decoding some unwritten rules of corporate advancements and ways to take more ownership for self-growth and development.

Profile of the speaker – “Vishwanath Joshi”

Vishwanath Joshi, 36 years, is a Post Graduate in Human Resource Management from Pune University. Spanning his career of more than 12 years, he has worked with IT consulting organizations like Mahindra Consulting, Patni, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd and Brainvisa Technologies, Pune. He was also an Advisor – Training and HR with Decos Software Development, Pune for more than 4 years.

He has also consulted with Infosys Technologies Ltd, one of the largest and reputed IT consulting organization in India, as a Certified Trainer on behavioral skills for their software professionals.

Overall, in the role of a facilitator, he has more than 9 years experience in designing and delivering value based programs like High Impact Communication skills, Customer Orientation and Management, Negotiation skills, Telephone communication, Managing Relationships, Mentoring and Coaching, Creating High Performance Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching, Performance Management etc.

He is also a Fellow student (equivalent to PhD) at Academy of HRD, Ahmadabad. (www.academyofhrd.org), India. He has also published and presented papers on areas of Innovation, Customer Centricity, Strategic Leadership and Creating High Performance Organizations in national and international journals.

Topic abstract for “Strategic Thinking and Decision Making” 

For achieving the expected business results, one must think strategically and then take decisions strategically.

Most of the mission critical projects/programs/portfolio scenario needs the business leaders think and take decisions strategically for achieving a win-win proposition for themselves and their customers.

The session will highlight various business scenarios requiring attention strategically and then the decision taken that drives the entire delivery process and customer engagements very productive.

There could be some sample hypothetical scenarios discussed with attendees and engage them to brain storm for  thinking strategically and take decisions to demonstrate the value of the strategic thinking and decision making.

Profile of the speaker – “Girsih S Kelkar”

Former President, currently part of advisory board of PMI Pune Deccan-India Chapter and Industry Veteran, Involved in Strategic Planning for the Chapter and involved in PMP Training and Consulting Group as well as in activities set up for NGOs, SME sectors for Project management Training & Consulting.

Currently he is busy with his research work on Performance Management of Project Teams at NITIE Mumbai. Additionally he has been trained and Certified as Executive Coach and has started work in this field handling coaching for CXOs

Girish has had a varied and experienced career ranging from Managing Director Satt Control India Ltd. Involved in Strategic Planning & Business Development for the Organization to Senior Advisor in Power Exchange India Limited as Head of IT involved in development of novel applications and overall Management of IT function.
